As the Warriors head to Utah for Game 3 against the Jazz on Friday, Steve Kerr will be heading to the East Coast.
The Golden State head coach is seeing a specialist at Duke Medical Center Friday, in attempts to figure out a solution to the lingering symptoms from his 2015 back surgery that have kept him away from the team for two weeks, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN. Kerr had been receiving treatment at Stanford for much of last week.
Kerr is still considered to be out indefinitely, and it is now very unlikely that he will return during the second round series with Utah. Kerr has missed the Warriors’ last four playoff games. It remains unclear if he will be healthy enough to return to the team this postseason.

The Warriors have consistently said Kerr is out indefinitely. Sources indicate that it’s now “very unlikely” he’d return this round.

Just like last year Kerr’s adamant about not coming back until he’s sure he’s healed and can keep coaching. Even more important this time
