Kevin Frandsen joined us to talk about the recent bench clearing brawl between the Giants and the Washington Nationals. The fight was sparked when Hunter Strickland hit Bryce harper with a 98 mph fastball causing the star outfielder to rush the mound. The two have had quite a history as Bryce took Hunter deep twice back in 2014 during the NLDS, a series the Giants would later go on to win.
Kevin Frandsen had this to say, ” I find it pretty hard to believe that someone could hold onto something for three years but it happened yesterday, Hunter Strickland was in the wrong.”
The Nationals hold the 2nd best record in the NL at 31 – 19, while the Giants have struggled to find their footing in the National League West. Whether this ordeal provides a much needed spark for the Giants remains to be seen, but one thing that’s for sure is this series just got a lot more interesting as the Giants will look to rebound from their game 1 loss and take the series.
