The Warriors now have three traditional point guards on their roster, with Cook joining Curry and Livingston, beefing up Golden State’s backcourt depth a bit. The Warriors’ roster is now capped at 17. Cook joins rookie forward Chris Boucher as the players given the team’s two alloted two-way contracts, which are essentially a retainer that teams can place on younger players they want to be the 16th and 17th men on their roster, holding their rights as they bounce between the G-League.
Cook, 24, was a standout at Duke, and was named a second team All-American while helping the school win an NCAA title his senior year. Cook has also been a D-League, now called the G-League, standout for the past two seasons, making the All-Star team in both 2016 and 2017. Cook has averaged 5.8 points in 13.4 minutes per game in his short NBA career.
