The Golden State Warriors finally received their bling on Tuesday night.
And yes, those shiny rings had a whole lot of shine. In fact, more shine than any other championship rings in NBA history.
The rings, 11 carats in weight, feature more diamonds than rings from any of the championship rings from one of the four major American sports, and on Wednesday afternoon, the magnificence of the rings prompted Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr to say he’s “never seen anything like it.”
“The rings are completely out of control,” Kerr said on Tolbert & Lund on KNBR 680. “Ginormous. They came in a box, I’ve never even seen anything like it. The box has a little TV screen in the back. I can look at the ring, I don’t need the TV screen that shows pictures of the ring. I can see it.”
Kerr said the ring ceremony made for an incredibly special night at Oracle Arena on Tuesday, and he said that beyond receiving rings, watching the Warriors unveil their championship banner was also an unforgettable moment.

The Warriors’ fourth-year head coach has helped lead the franchise to two titles in three seasons, and he’s proud of the fact that Golden State will be able to display its 2017 championship banner when it moves to the Chase Center down the road.
“The fact that it will be there forever,” Kerr said. “I guess we’ll move it to the Chase Center in two years and it will being the Chase Center forever. The fact that our guys hung that banner is such an incredible accomplishment. One of the touches that I really like, Chicago did this when I played with the Bulls, we put all of their names around the edge of the banner.”
After sharing his thoughts on Tuesday’s ceremony, Kerr joked with Tolbert about the championships the Warriors claim from 1947 and 1956, because Kerr admitted he didn’t know about those titles until after Golden State defeated Cleveland in the NBA Finals in 2015.
“They hand us the shirts that say four-time champions, and we’ve been in the practice facility the whole year and there’s only two banners in there, all of a sudden, we were four-time champions,” Kerr said.
