OAKLAND – What’s that saying? An old dog can’t learn new tricks? Well, I guess we can put that one to rest now.
Thursday night NaVorro Bowman helped the Raiders to a thrilling 31-10 victory against the division rival Kansas City Chiefs in Oakland. The seven-year vet started the game after arriving in Oakland Monday, and was even calling plays for the Raiders defense against the Chiefs.
“I’ve put in, in three days man, about 40 hours,” said Bowman after the win. “Just really studying this playbook and wanting to come out here and have a great game. And just to show that I do still do have a lot of football left in me.”
“He’s been here two days, he’s got the green dot on, he plays just about the whole game, he calls the defense,” said Del Rio. “And I just absolutely love the football player in him.
“He’s a…he’s a hunting dog.”
A hunting dog that apparently still has a trick or two up his sleeves.
