OAKLAND–Bradley Beal didn’t make it to the end of the Washington Wizards’ 120-117 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Friday night.

Instead, he played a little less than a half after getting ejected late in the second quarter for fighting with Warriors’ forward Draymond Green.

After Green boxed out Beal on a rebound, Beal reached around and made contact with Green’s face which led to a scuffle that ultimately ended up with both players on the floor near the Wizards’ bench. After Friday’s game, Beal said he apologized to his team immediately following the incident, and then called the fight “unacceptable” on his part.

“As soon as it happened at halftime I apologized and I apologized again at the end of the game because it’s unacceptable by me,” Beal said. “I’ve got to show better leadership and better control.”

When asked to describe the fight, Beal said he didn’t want to divulge details, because he would be doing so with the NBA league office on Saturday.

“I’m not going to go into details, but things were said, things were done throughout the whole game, but I’m not going into details,” Beal said.

The Wizards’ star said Friday night’s game was chippy throughout, but that he still shouldn’t have allowed his emotions to get out of hand. With Beal on the floor, Washington built up a 14-point halftime edge against Golden State. But without Beal in the second half, the Wizards crumbled, ultimately surrendering an 18-point lead as the Warriors capitalized on their depth advantage.

“For sure, I’m more disappointed in myself than anything,” Beal said. “Like I said before, I apologized to my teammates and I can’t put myself in that situation at the end of the day. I could have let it be, kept it moving, but at the same time, like I said before, there are lines that should and shouldn’t be crossed and at the end of the day, my teammates we had a good chance of winning but I still let them down at the end of the day.”
