OAKLAND–The Warriors didn’t have Steph Curry, but on Monday night, all they needed was their change of pace.
With Curry sidelined due to a right quad contusion, reserve point guard Shaun Livingston took the reins of the Warriors’ offense and led Golden State to a 110-100 victory over the Orlando Magic.
Even in the midst of their seventh straight victory, the Warriors clearly missed Curry’s star power and offensive exploits. But with Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green to run behind, Livingston didn’t miss a beat, adding 16 points in 20 minutes and finishing with a plus-minus of plus-16.
Like a deep NFL backfield with a home run threat and a between the tackles runner to fight for extra yards, the Warriors have it all with Curry and Livingston, and that becomes even more obvious when one of them is unable to take the floor.
After Monday’s game, KNBR.com’s Kerry Crowley and Sam Hustis discussed the Warriors’ win, and broke down the upcoming road trip.
