Kevin Durant missed Friday’s game against the Chicago Bulls with a sore ankle and for that same reason, Steve Kerr ruled his forward out against New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night.
Warriors now ruling Kevin Durant out vs Pelicans tonight. Initially hurt left ankle vs Sixers, sat vs Nets, played vs OKC ("We shouldn't have," Kerr said), out the past two nights.

“We don’t know for sure. But we probably shouldn’t have played him Wednesday,” Kerr said. “I thought he was fine (after missing the game before). We thought he was fine.”
During Golden State’s 24-point comeback victory over the Philadelphia 76ers last Saturday, Durant injured his ankle and sat out against the Brooklyn Nets the next day.
Durant returned to put up three three-pointers, five rebounds, two steals, and 21 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. Nonetheless, Kerr’s better judgement was to give Durant more rest instead of another go at his former teammate Russell Westbrook.
“But then he got a little sore afterwards,” Kerr said. “I’m sure the league was happy because we played him on their marquee game with him and Russ(ell Westbrook) and all that stuff. We shouldn’t have played him. So now we’ve got to be careful. I don’t think it’s anything serious. But we got to make sure he’s right. So I’d say doubtful.”
