OAKLAND – Omri Casspi has a secret for why he’s so effective at cutting to the rim…but Steve Kerr and Klay Thompson might have just ruined it.
Casspi takes a large amount of his shots around the rim. Steve Kerr and Klay Thompson were both asked Wednesday to explain why Omri is so effective at getting to the rim, and both had the same answer.
“He’ll maybe dance behind his guy, his guy will look at him, and as soon as the guy turns his head back…Omri’s gone,” Kerr said pregame.
“He just has a knack for knowing when his defender isn’t looking,” Thompson said.
A reporter then told Casspi what Thompson said about his cutting, and Omri wasn’t necessarily happy about it.
“I can’t tell you guys all my secretes,” Casspi said playfully. “Next game I’m going to have my man looking at me the whole time. Just play hard man, it is what it is.”
Casspi had an efficient game in the Warriors 97-84 win over Memphis. The small forward had eight points on only five shots, and added two rebounds and an assist in 13 minutes of action. He also had a team-high plus-14 in the +/- column.
