After everything Bradley Pinion did to be nominated for the 2017 Walton Payton NFL Man of the Year award, the 23-year-old punter continues to live up to his nomination by surprising his childhood friend, Jason, with two Super Bowl tickets.
The Walton Payton Man of the Year award is given annually to the player who is committed to philanthropy and values community involvement. Each of the 32 nominees receive two tickets that year’s Super Bowl, with all expenses paid, and instead of using them for himself, Pinion decided to surprise his lifelong friend.
Since being drafted by the 49ers in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Pinion has served in 30 community events in the Bay Area which benefited over 40 different organizations.
In his first year in the NFL, Pinion won the 49ers Community Relations Rookie Service Award by volunteering at 12 community events over the course of six months. Since then, he’s been of a part of serving several causes; such as athletes with special needs, animal adoption, wounded veterans, cancer awareness, and others.
