Raiders to interview Packers’ director of football operations for new position [report]

Just two hours after the Oakland Raiders officially introduced Jon Gruden as their new head coach, the organization is reportedly looking to add another influential voice.

According to a report from Michael Gehlken of The Las Vegas Review-Journal, Oakland will interview Green Bay Packers’ director of football operations Eliot Wolf for a senior position in the team’s player personnel department.

Wolf is an Oakland native who is the son of former Packers’ general manager Ron Wolf, and he’s worked with the organization in various capacities since graduating from the University of Miami in 2003. Wolf has been in his current job since 2012, and he was reportedly interested in the 49ers’ general manager vacancy last offseason before San Francisco hired John Lynch.

Wolf worked under current Raiders’ general manager Reggie McKenzie when McKenzie was the director of player personnel with the Packers, so the fit with Oakland is natural. It’s unclear exactly what job Wolf would hold with the Raiders, but during his introductory press conference, Gruden said he would welcome different viewpoints on personnel.
