OAKLAND–Mr. 20,000.

On Wednesday night, Warriors’ forward Kevin Durant became the 44th player in NBA history to reach the 20,000-point threshold, dropping 25 in the first half against the Los Angeles Clippers to become the second-fastest player ever behind LeBron James to hit the coveted milestone.

With Steph Curry and Klay Thompson sitting out Golden State’s matchup with Los Angeles, Durant took the reins of the Warriors’ offense and hit 9-of-10 first half attempts to set a blistering pace for the evening. On his final shot of the first half, Durant nailed a deep three-pointer to give him an even 20,000 for his career. Durant reached the milestone at 29 years and 103 days, besting Kobe Bryant by 19 days for second place on the list of the fastest players to hit 20,000 points.

Durant is averaging 25.9 points per game this season with Golden State, a tick up from the 25.1 points per game he averaged in his first season after leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Durant’s 25 points also gave the Warriors a 62-58 halftime advantage.
