A’s to charge Giants fans $20 more for parking during 2018 season, unless they yell ‘Go A’s’ at gates

The trolling continues.

Oakland A’s president Dave Kaval continued his attempts to drum up a good natured rivalry between the Bay Area’s two baseball team’s on Saturday, announcing via press release that San Francisco Giants fans will be charged $50 for parking, $20 more than A’s fans, at the Oakland Coliseum this season. Giants fans can get a $20 discount, however, by yelling ‘Go A’s’ at the parking gates. The announcement comes a day before the two teams are scheduled to square off in an exhibition game in Oakland on Sunday.

“Any Giants fan who yells ‘Go A’s’ at the parking gates will be charged only $30 to enter the Oakland Coliseum,” team president Dave Kaval said in the release.

The strategy is in line with other stunts generated by Kaval, who took over as the A’s president in November 2016. The most notable has been the Giants-A’s hat exchange, where A’s fans can bring in Giants hats and exchange them for Athletics hat free of charge.
