LOS ANGELES — After dazzling for the San Francisco Giants in their victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Opening Day, Bruce Bochy said they’re going to stick with Ty Blach for the home opener.

“Yeah, he’s still scheduled to do that,” Bochy said when asked if Blach will start the home opener.
After their final game in Los Angeles on Sunday, the Giants will head home to face the Seattle Mariners on April 3 at 1:35 PM. As it stands, Blach will face Seattle’s Marco Gonzalez, who was 1-1 this spring with a 2.08 ERA and 21 strikeouts.
Without Madison Bumgarner and Jeff Samardzija, Blach started Opening Day as a part of Bochy’s rearranging of the rotation. He held the Dodgers to three hits and three walks over five scoreless innings. His performance made Joe Panik’s solo home run off of Clayton Kershaw enough to defeat the Dodgers.
Following Blach, Johnny Cueto, Derek Holland, and Chris Stratton will round out the rotation until the Giants will need a fifth starter on April 10. That’s the order Bochy plans to go with until Bumgarner and Samardzija return.
“We’re just going to keep these guys in order right now,” Bochy said. “Like we said, on the 10th we’ll insert a starter there or fifth guy. We’re not going to move starters around at this point.”
