LOS ANGELES — After a tough spring, outfielder Jarrett Parker has been released by the San Francisco Giants, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reported on Friday evening
Jarrett Parker cleared waivers and was released. He's currently a free agent. The Giants already had Williamson, Shaw, Duggar and Slater headed for Triple-A outfield.

Three years ago, Parker wowed the Giants with a three-homer game against the Oakland A’s in late September. By the end of 2015, he owned a .347 batting average and six homers in 21 games played.
However, Parker struggled mightily to replicate his rookie success the following two seasons. In 2016, he batted only .236 with five home runs. One year later, Parker’s batting average rose to .247, but he struck out 54 times in 51 games.
While fighting for a roster spot, Parker batted .220 with 20 strikeouts and only three home runs this spring. He started the spring 4-for-23 with 15 strikeouts.
It wasn’t long after his final appearance of the spring on March 20 that Parker was designed for assignment by the Giants. Derek Holland assumed his spot on the major league roster.
