Smith, 28, was arrested and booked Friday for violating a condition of his electronic monitoring while on bail. Smith was on bail for a March 3 incident with his fiancee, that led to him turning himself in a few days later on domestic violence charges. The incident included Smith reportedly drinking two bottles of tequila, then allegedly biting his fiancee’s wrists and climbing out her window, possibly fleeing in a black Range Rover, according to dispatch audio reviewed by the San Jose Mercury News.
Smith is now being held on a $500,000 bond.
Smith reached the NFL in 2011 after being selected seventh overall by the 49ers. Smith hasn’t played a full 16-game season since 2012, when he was named a NFC Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-Pro as a member of the 49ers. Smith was eventually released by the 49ers in 2015, after being arrested for his third DUI.
The Raiders released Smith on March 5.
