Thompson tries to run off court after buzzer beater, gets shut down by Warriors PR

OAKLAND – Klay Thompson had himself a half.

Through the first 24 minutes in Game 5 of the first round matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs, Thompson went 8-for-12 from the field good for 17 first half points. We expected Thompson to have a better game than his last time out, when he shot 25% from the field and only finished with 12 points in the Game 4 loss, but we didn’t expect this.

Thompson’s efficient half ended with a bang.

After grabbing a loose ball Thompson turned and fired, nailing a turnaround jumper to end the half. Usually reserved, Thompson pumped up the crowd on his way off the court waving his hands in the air.

He attempted to run straight to the locker room, but met better defense than he’d seen all day in Warriors PR czar Raymond Ridder. Ridder stopped Thompson dead in his tracks so he could do an interview with our friends at NBC Sports Bay Area.

Too funny. Maybe next time he’ll see it coming and euro step around Ridder.
