Kerr: Rondo trying to trip Curry was ‘dangerous…you can’t do that’

Rajon Rondo has spent much of the Warriors-Pelicans series trying to mix things up with Draymond Green, but it’s what he did to Stephen Curry in Game 3 that has Golden State considering alerting the league office.

Cameras caught Rondo sliding his foot under Curry while he was in midair shooting a jumper three minutes into Friday’s game.

Later on in the contest, Rondo alsotried to trip Green after the whistle, leading to a technical foul for the Pelicans point guard.

At shootaround on Saturday, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said that while he has no problem with Rondo trying to get under other players’ skin, he called the two tripping incidents ‘dangerous,’ and said that the Warriors will likely submit video to the league office.

“Rondo’s a competitor, so they’re competing,” Kerr said. “I don’t see anything wrong with it, other than the tripping. You can’t do that. I’m all for getting under guys’ skin, but you can’t try to step on a guy’s foot or try to swipe a guy underneath his feet as he’s shooting—those are dangerous plays. … We’ll probably send it in, and it’s not going to do anything, but hopefully they keep an eye on it.”

Curry was more tight lipped about the incident.

“I got no comment. If the league wants to look into it, that’s on them. We’re trying to win Game 4,” Curry told ESPN’s Chris Haynes.
