Looks like there are some basketball fans on the staff at Saturday Night Live.
On May 5 Donald Glover hosted and performed on America’s favorite live late-night sketch comedy show in New York City. Apparently the actor slash rapper brought so much to the table that everything the show prepared couldn’t make the live broadcast.
Sunday morning SNL released a video on their YouTube channel poking fun of the Cleveland Cavaliers, one they said was cut for time constraints. The video mocks the NBA’s ever-present playoff promotional videos, but shines the light on a new group of players.
“Everybody knows about LeBron James,” an unnamed Cavaliers player says at the beginning of the video. “But don’t forget about us…The Other Cavaliers.”
The video pokes fun at this year’s Cavaliers team, one some are calling the worst team LeBron has been to the playoffs with. Some of his teammates are in charge of picking up his laundry, others are heavy smokers, one is a Roomba.
Like we said, Saturday Night Live has some writers who have been watching basketball this year.
Monday night LeBron and the Cavaliers will try to close out the Toronto Raptors at home with a neat little four game sweep of the Eastern Conference’s top seed.
No word yet if Pancake the Golden Retriever will start at center.
