Warriors guard Patrick McCaw continues to recover from a horrific-looking injury sustained March 31 against the Kings. McCaw took a hard fall, lay on the court for several minutes, and was carted off the court, which Steve Kerr called “the scariest thing I have experienced on a basketball floor.”
Fortunately, McCaw did not suffer any neurological damage. He was diagnosed with a lumbosacral bone bruise, which was originally believed to sideline him for the remainder of the season.
It appears that may not be the case anymore. Yahoo Sports’ Shams Charania reported Monday morning that McCaw is ‘on track’ to return sometime this postseason.
Sources: Progress continues for Warriors’ Pat McCaw: After consecutive days of non-contact drills at practice, McCaw is expected to have his first on-court pregame workout tonight since scary fall on March 31. On track for potential return this postseason.

Fewer than one month ago, McCaw told reporters he could not sleep at night, calling his back injury ‘the toughest pain you have ever had.’ Since the injury, McCaw has slowly eased his way back into physical activity. Nearly two weeks ago, he was cleared to resume activities.
He will be evaluated in two weeks, at which point he could potentially be cleared to return to game action. Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, between the Warriors and Houston Rockets, would start exactly two weeks from Monday. Golden State plays at Houston in Game 1 Monday night.
