During the third quarter of Golden State’s 126-85 win over Houston Sunday night, TNT cameras caught Stephen Curry letting a rare F-bomb slip. When asked about it postgame, Curry said he ‘blacked out.’

Just like ‘Pops.’
Curry’s father, Dell, who played 16 NBA seasons, joined KNBR’s Murph and Mac Monday morning, and took the blame for his son’s slip-up.
“Some of my buddies texted me right away, and I said, ‘Ah, I am afraid he got that from Pops,’” said Dell, laughing. “Sometimes, you just get carried away. The emotions run; (there is a) little frustration there of not having played the way he is capable of playing the first couple games. It happens.”
Curry’s scoop layup, which prompted the reaction, was part of an 18-point third quarter that featured vintage Curry. After struggling in Games 1 and 2, the two-time NBA MVP poured in 35 points to lead all scorers in Golden State’s Game 3 win that gave them a 2-1 advantage over Houston in the Western Conference Finals.
“Hopefully the kids will cover their eyes, but it’s just the emotion of the game,” Dell said. “Knowing that he was playing well, his team was playing well, and send the message: that if you come to Oracle, you better be ready to play.”
