Fresh off Golden State’s 110-102 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James compared the Warriors to one of the defining dynasties of the past two decades — from another sport.
“It’s almost like playing the (New England) Patriots,” James said. “You just can’t have mistakes. They are not going to beat themselves.”
James spoke about the tiny margin of error that a Warriors opponent must have to win. His counterpart agreed.
“I just think the margin of error against them is so little,” Kevin Love said just minutes prior.
In a game that featured Stephen Curry scoring 11 points and Klay Thompson adding 10 points, the Warriors still found a way to win. Kevin Durant produced one of the defining moments of his Hall of Fame-caliber career, pouring in 43 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists.
“He’s one of the best players I have ever played against, that this league has ever seen,” James said.
Durant’s prolific performance, and timely contributions from other Warriors, were enough to take a commanding 3-0 NBA Finals lead.
