The Giants have made it clear to other teams that ace Madison Bumgarner is not available via trade, according to Jon Heyman of MLB.com.
MadBum is going nowhere, understandably. #SFGiants have made that clear to teams. They are on cusp of race. And hold a $12M option on their ace for 2019.

The Giants hold a player option for Bumgarner, 28, worth $12 million for next year. After starting the season on the disabled list, Bumgarner has been solid if not spectacular in his 10 starts this season. The big lefty has posted a 3.06 ERA and 1.20 WHIP while striking out 51 in 61 and 2/3 innings.
Bumgarner being off the table is yet another indication that the Giants are unwilling to be big time sellers at the traded deadline, despite the fact that they are a game under .500, and 6.5 games out of first place in the NL West. After next season, the Giants will have to ink Bumgarner to a massive multi-year deal, or see their ace hit free agency for the first time in his career.
The non-waiver trade deadline is July 31.
