Even with LeBron gone, Draymond keeps trolling the Cavs

If you thought the LeBron James’ exit from Cleveland and practical end of the Cavaliers-Warriors rivalry would stop Draymond Green having a laugh at the Cavs’ expense, you’d be wrong.

Ahead of Wednesday’s clash between the two teams, the first since LeBron left for Los Angeles this summer, Green posted a short video to his Instagram, where he trolls the Cavs by making reference to Stephen Curry’s “champagne comments” from 2016.

“These people done changed the locker room up in Cleveland,” Draymond says as he walks through the Cavs locker room that was redesigned last offseason. “They must couldn’t get that champagne smell out huh #30 (Stephen Curry),” he concludes before cackling.

Green is referring to a controversial quote Curry made during the 2015-16 season, a year after the Warriors clinched the NBA title in Cleveland for the first time.

“Obviously, walking in the locker room, it’ll be good memories,” Curry told the Bay Area News Group before the two teams faced off. “Hopefully, it still smells a little bit like champagne.”

At the time, the comments reportedly irked a number of Cavs players. With the Cavaliers currently boasting a 5-18 record and in the midst of a total rebuild, it’s hard to imagine Green’s comments on Wednesday having the same type of impact.
