Durant jokes about jumping over table at reporter during funny exchange

OAKLAND – Kevin Durant almost picked a fight following his team’s win over the Dallas Mavericks, until he realized he wanted nooo smoke.

When AP reporter Janie McCauley, a regular face at Warriors games and practices, first asked Kevin Durant about Draymond Green the former MVP thought she was picking on his teammate.

Recently Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had talked talked about how Draymond Green was still getting into basketball shape following the Michigan State product’s lingering toe sprain. Draymond’s 14 point/10 rebound/8 assist night against Dallas (that included two triples) was an encouraging start, but it was the first time the forward had reached double digit points since late October.

“Do you think it’s just a matter of time before he gets in a nice offensive groove offensively and gets back to where he’s been?” McCauley asked Durant, who gestured at the stat sheet sitting in front of him.

“I mean he had 14, 10 and five … do you want him to score 30?” Durant asked back. When McCauley cleared the air, explaining that she was asking if this is the first game of him getting back to regular form Durant relented.

“I was about to say now, I’m going to have to come over this table,” Durant joked. “I’m just joking I’m just joking. I know you got me. I ain’t want NO problems.”

Our money was on Janie.
