We are more than five weeks removed from the devastating Northern California Camp Fire reaching containment, but the 49ers have not forgotten about their friends at Paradise High School.
Throughout November, fires ravaged Paradise and parts of Butte County. Paradise High School, consequently, had to forfeit its playoff football game due to all the devastation.
The 49ers invited the Paradise football team to their Monday Night Football matchup against the New York Giants on Nov. 12. General manager John Lynch met with Paradise coach Rick Prinz and the rest of the team pregame.

Fast forward to this week, and the 49ers surprised Prinz with something else: two tickets to Super Bowl LIII. This time, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was the messenger, via FaceTime.
“It was a big deal for us having you guys on the sidelines against the Giants,” Shanahan said. “It was real cool getting to see you, see your whole team. I can’t imagine what you guys have been through this year. It’s unbelievable what you guys have to had to go through and what you guys still did. I know you guys are trying to persevere down there, but we wanted to take care of you a little bit, man, because we know you deserve it.”
