The Dodgers have reportedly added a big bat to their lineup.

Multiple reports indicate the Giants’ archrival has agreed to terms with former Diamondbacks slugger A.J. Pollock, who will stay in the National League West.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports the deal is for five years and at least $60 million.

Pollock has played in just 469 of potential 810 games throughout his career as he’s battled a myriad of injuries. In his lone full season, he was named an All-Star, in 2015, when he slashed .315/.367/.498. In his seven seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Pollock’s career slash line is .281/.338/.467. In 2018, Pollock slashed .257/.316/.484 and added 21 homers.

Pollock is the middle-of-the-lineup bat the Dodgers have searched for after losing Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds last month. The Diamondbacks have now lost arguably their two best hitters this offseason, with Pollock joining the Dodgers and Paul Goldschmidt signing with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Pollock’s career slash against the Giants .261/.312/.402.

So far, the Giants have kept quiet on the free agent market. On Wednesday, however, the team signed former Red Sox starting pitcher Drew Pomeranz.
