Giants center fielder Kevin Pillar returned to Toronto Tuesday for the first time since being traded, and he was greeted to an extended standing ovation.

After Pillar trotted out to the center field he roamed for six-plus seasons, a video tribute was played on the big screen. Fans held up signs celebrating Pillar, one of which read, “You’ll always be our superman.” Pillar held back tears and waved to the roaring crowd.

Pillar spent the first six-plus years of his career with the Blue Jays, hitting .259 with a .692 OPS. He was traded to the Giants after 23 games this season. Since being traded, Pillar is hitting .226 with a .694 OPS. He hit four home runs in a six-game span earlier this month.

The Giants will play two games in Toronto before returning home to welcome the New York Yankees starting Friday.
