It was off to such a promising start. Kevin Durant looked healthy, active and much like his old self. In his 12 minutes on the floor, Durant had completely changed the momentum. He had 11 points with perfect 3-point shooting (3-of-3) along with a block and two rebounds.
Then, with one cut, Durant’s night, and likely his season, was over. As Durant looked to get past Serge Ibaka, he cut left, Ibaka poked the ball free, and Durant went to the floor, holding his right calf, the same one which kept him out of the playoffs for more than a month. He was helped off the floor by Andre Iguodala and followed into the locker room by Iguodala, Stephen Curry, general manager Bob Myers and members of the Warriors’ training staff.
While all this happened, Raptors fans were heard cheering, prompting not only Klay Thompson and other Warriors players – who were visibly upset by the cheering – but Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka, to urge the fans to stop their cheering for an injury. The Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid chimed in on the incident:

Shortly after Durant left the arena in crutches. He is scheduled to have an MRI tomorrow.
