While Kevin Durant suffered one of the most devastating injuries possible for a basketball player, Durant’s pedigree means his ruptured right Achilles likely won’t be an impediment for non-Warriors suitors looking to offer him a four-year max contract this summer. Some of those suitors have been reported to be the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets, both of whom have opened a massive swathe of cap space this summer.
It was also reported by Marc Berman of the New York Post that Draymond Green had flown cross country to visit Durant, who underwent surgery in New York within 48 hours of rupturing his right Achilles. According to Berman’s source, the visit was more to wish Durant well than to recruit him to return to the Warriors, but according to Green himself, no such visit took place.
Green responded to an Instagram post about Berman’s report, commenting that he was on a trip to the Hamptons, hence his stop at New York’s JFK International Airport.
“lol that’s just bad sources,” Green wrote, “because I actually went to the hamptons for some friends engagement party hahaha but shoutout the people who saw me walking through JFK though ??♂️.”
