When baseball’s future takes the field on July 7 in Cleveland, the Giants’ future will be represented, too.

Joey Bart and Heliot Ramos, San Francisco’s Nos. 1 and 2 prospects, are among the 50 prospects to get the nod for the MLB Futures Game, which takes place during All-Star Weekend, Major League Baseball announced Friday.

Bart, the second-overall pick last year, is a 22-year-old catcher eventually expected to succeed Buster Posey. In 103 High-A San Jose at-bats, the Georgia Tech product is slashing .243/.304/.466 with five home runs since returning from a fractured left hand.

Ramos, a center fielder from Puerto Rico, was the 19th pick in the 2017 draft and has had a breakout season with San Jose. The 19-year-old has nine homers in 162 at-bats with a .908 OPS. Born in September 1999, he’s the sixth-youngest prospect to be chosen for the game.
