Kevin Durant’s free agency decision will come on Sunday night. Durant’s free agency has been one of the most talked about impending free agencies, and is probably only out-matched by LeBron James’s “The Decision,” when he announced on national television that he was signing with the Miami Heat in 2010. In that same vein, Durant will make his announcement on his own accord.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Durant will announce his free agency decision on Sunday night on the Instagram account of his company-owned sports business network, The Boardroom.

On Friday, Wojnarowski had reported that Durant’s decision could, “extend well into next week,” with four potential suitors to consider in the Warriors, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers. That has discernibly changed, but the expectation of Durant receiving max offers do not appear to have changed. According to the New York Times’ Marc Stein, the Warriors will officially offer Durant a five-year, $221 million supermax contract when free agency opens Sunday at 6 p.m. ET. Durant’s other suitors can only offer him four years and $164 million.
