Chris Rice caught Pablo Sandoval’s game winner last night while holding his five-month-old daughter. They met him during BP just now and got the ball signed. Sandoval also gave them a signed bat: pic.twitter.com/Rjvvw4DWER

It’s not just Giants players coming through in the clutch.
It’s the fans, too.
The latest star in a few months full of them is Chris Rice, a Giants supporter who, with his sleeping baby in one arm, caught Pablo Sandoval’s go-ahead homer in the win over the Padres on Friday night.
A day later, Rice met the Giants icon who launched it into his hand. He visited the Giants dugout, talking with both Sandoval and manager Bruce Bochy. Sandoval even held Rice’s 5-month-old.
A new dad possibly risking his infant’s health in the name of catching the game-winner must have scared Mom, right? Not so much.
“‘He did it. Holding the kid.’ Yes, that’s my hubby and baby! #1 Dad and apparently catcher too!” wrote Neda Iranpour, a San Diego TV anchor and Shaw’s wife.
When everything is going right for the Giants, everything is going right.
