PHILADELPHIA — As of now, the Giants are buying and selling.

San Francisco is trading from its bullpen surplus to acquire Milwaukee’s No. 3 prospect, infielder Mauricio Dubon. Going to the Brewers are Drew Pomeranz and Ray Black, according to multiple reports.

Farhan Zaidi has spoken of trading depth for need, and the Giants have a deep bullpen and a need at second base. Dubon, a righty, which also helps, should get a lot of the at-bats Joe Panik has received. While he also plays around the infield and a bit of outfield, Dubon, who has 16 home runs and nine steals in 98 Triple-A games, will be a contributor.

The Giants can call up lefty Sam Selman to replace Pomeranz on the roster. Pomeranz had elevated his value since being demoted from the rotation, the lefty throwing 5 1/3 scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. Black, a 29-year-old with good stuff, had volleyed between the majors and minors this year.
