Well that was a first.
After being moved to left field following Steven Duggar’s exit with another shoulder injury, Brandon Belt threw a rocket to Donovan Solano at second base to save a would-be-double by Yan Gomes in the sixth inning on Wednesday’s game. It should be said that Gomes was only in position to get a double because of Belt misjudging the fly ball, but he made up for it by perfectly playing the bounce off the wall, and firing a no-hopper to Solano.
Giants announcer Duane Kuiper said it best: “Did I say Belt’s got a good arm? I think I did.”
