It was every bit as bad as feared.

Stephen Curry will miss at least three months after undergoing surgery on his broken hand Friday, the Warriors announced in a move that essentially ends their season one week into it.

The superstar guard sustained a fracture to the second metacarpal in his left hand and was operated on by Dr. Steven Shin in Los Angeles. The team said an update on his progress will be provided in three months, marking February as the earliest possible return.

Curry injured the hand in Wednesday’s loss to the Suns, when he drove to the basket and leapt, crashing into Aron Baynes, both of them hitting the ground hard — with the Phoenix big man landing on Curry’s hand.

It is hard to imagine it getting any better for the 1-3 Warriors.
