The 49ers were understandably hyped after their last-second, 26-21 win over the Seattle Seahawks to clinch the NFC West and first overall seed in the playoffs.
Kyle Shanahan and Richard Sherman addressed the team postgame in the locker room.
“I’m so happy for you guys,” Shanahan said with a smile. “I always think there’s not another way we can find out to win, and we find out another way to win man. (Dre) Greenlaw, that play you made on the goal line (loud cheers). Lots of plays went into that game we needed to win, but we don’t have these cool hats if without that play, Greenlaw.”
“Hey fellas, it feels good to say “champions” on the hat, but this ain’t enough like they said,” Sherman said. “So get your bodies right. We got more to do, we’re probably going to end up playing these dudes again or another good team. So celebrate for 24 hours, but we gotta get ready to do it again.”
The 49ers will host a game playoff game two weeks from now against the lowest seeded team that advances from the Wild Card round next weekend.
