How’s that for a headline?

A man impersonating Tim Lincecum on Twitter was arrested for multiple charges after scamming former NFL 1st-round pick Hayden Hurst out of autographed gear according to TMZ.

Cops say Hurst told them he was contacted by a man claiming to be Lincecum in May of 2019, from an account that had a verified checkmark according to Hurst. The account asked the TE for a for some signed memorabilia for a charity donation and he obliged, sending two signed jerseys, including one inscribed “My guy! 12/9/19 game used, 3 rec 73 yards 1 TD.”

All seemed above board until Hurst’s agent saw the jerseys for sale online. Following an investigation, the police tracked down a Pennsylvania man named Michael Daily who confessed to the scam, and also admitted to using different accounts to acquire other memorabilia including NFL jerseys, cleats and WWE championship belts. Daily has been charged identity theft, theft by deception and unlawful use of a computer.

Neither Lincecum nor Hurst have commented publicly on the situation.
