Stephen Curry was back, and then he wasn’t. After four months of being sidelined with a left hand fracture which required two surgeries, Curry returned against the Toronto Raptors last Thursday. He was promptly relegated to solitude again, after coming down with the flu (the kind you’re familiar with, not the coronavirus).
Head coach Steve Kerr insinuated he caught the flu from his son, Canon, and was being properly attended to by team doctors. On Tuesday, Kerr announced that Curry is expected to make his return to the Warriors lineup on Thursday against the Brooklyn Nets.
Draymond Green, who’s missed the last five games (and played in just one of the last eight), isn’t quite on the same track. Kerr was more optimistic about him than in past days, saying that he’s made progress, but it’s clear he’s likely still a few games away from returning.
“He lost some conditioning and strength in the knee, so we are taking a cautious approach there, too, but he’s doing a lot better,” Kerr said. “He’s gotten a couple of good workouts in the past two days, will get a lift in tonight and he’s getting closer, for sure.”
