New 49ers offensive lineman once punched Richard Sherman in the face

What a difference eight years makes. On Jan. 6, 2013, Washington offensive tackle Trent Williams was so annoyed with then-Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman after a playoff game, he punched him in the face. On April 25, 2020, the two players became teammates, when the 49ers traded for the seven-time Pro Bowler in the wake of Joe Staley’s retirement.

Time heals all wounds they say, and based on the good-natured back and forth on social media between the two future Hall of Famers, the incident is water under the bridge.

Here’s a longer version of Sherman being mic’d up during the game in question.
