Mike Tauchman robs Albert Pujols of walk-off, saves Giants in win over Dodgers

Friday night’s win over the Dodgers was a rollercoaster.

First it looked like Buster Posey won it in the 8th with a three-run homer to put the Giants up 5-2. Then hopes were dashed an inning later when the pinch-hitting Austin Barnes tied things with a three-run homer of his own off Tyler Rogers. A batter later, Albert Pujols appeared to put the nail in the coffin, when he blasted a pitch to deep left field.

In most situations, it would’ve been enough to give the Dodgers their fifth consecutive win over the Giants this season. Instead, left fielder Mike Tauchman robbed Pujols of glory with one of the most spectacular catches you’ll ever see, reaching over the left field fence to save both the ball and the Giants’ chances at victory.

Ultimately, San Francisco took advantage of the life line, scoring three runs in the 10th thanks to RBIs from Lamont Wade Jr. and Evan Longoria, holding on for an 8-5 victory.
