The Warriors are treating the final night of their four-game road trip, a tilt against the Pistons, as a rest night.
Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala and Otto Porter Jr. are each inactive for Friday night’s game.
Curry, who dropped 40 points in a comeback win over the Cavaliers Thursday night, has been dealing with a sore left hip. He suffered the injury late against Brooklyn early in the week when he attempted to take a charge against James Harden.
When asked about his hip after the Cavaliers win on Nov. 18, Curry said “that charge really messed with me a little bit.”
“Don’t got a lot of meat back there,” the superstar guard added.
Curry is leading the NBA in scoring this year at 29.5 points per game. He’s hitting 41.9% of his 13.5 3-point attempts per game.
Green, who’s been stellar on both ends of the court thus far, is sitting out for the first time of the season. He’s listed as out with a right thigh contusion.
Meanwhile, Iguodala is set to miss his second straight game with right knee soreness. The 38-year-old wing has drawn praise for his leadership, basketball I.Q. and defensive acumen, but Golden State has ample depth to replace him while he’s out. Rookie Jonathan Kuminga, Damion Lee, Juan Toscano-Anderson and Gary Payton II could be in line for more playing time while Iguodala and Porter Jr. (left foot injury management) sit.
Detroit fans who bought tickets to Friday night’s game will unfortunately miss the Stephen Curry Show. But they’ll have a huge advantage on the court against Golden State’s B-team.
