Jim Harbaugh really is one of a kind.
The former 49ers head coach who was known for wearing cleats on the sideline during games, apparently took things a step further during practice. One of Harbaugh’s favorite players, 49ers legend Frank Gore, told the boys at “Pardon My Take” that coach Harbaugh used to suit up and practice with the team.
“He would practice bro, with the guys,” a smiling Gore said. “He would have on the shoulder pads and the helmet with his Dickies on and stuff. He was very competitive.”
Harbaugh apparently wasn’t ready to completely give up the feeling of playing quarterback in the NFL, something he did from 1987-2001. Harbaugh was known for being an insane competitor, something you could see with the way he used to pump up 49ers quarterback Alex Smith before games.
Footage of Harbaugh in a helmet and khakis would be a true holiday miracle.
