49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was arrested in Los Angeles on Thursday night with a charge of obstruction of justice. He was booked and released early Friday morning. TMZ was first to report the news.
The LAPD told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Lenoir was part of a group approached by police when officers noticed a gun inside a vehicle. Lenoir reportedly was involved in keeping keys away from an officer when the group was asked to turn them over.
There has been no official statement yet released by the San Francisco 49ers.
Lenoir, 25, is heading into his age 25 season with a newly minted five year $92 million contract. He figures to be one of the most important defensive players for the Niners in his fifth year out of Oregon.
