The Giants will not be going undefeated in Cactus League play this Spring. After starting the spring with four straight victories, they lost a pair of games against the Brewers and Rockies. Oh well, the Cactus League crown is still in reach
The Giants might have a Hayden Birdsong problem. A year after they definitely had a Hayden Birdsong problem. The still promising young right hander had another rough outing on Thursday, his second in as many starts. Although it was better than his disastrous first start, the problems persist.
Vitello weighed in on Birdsong’s outing, specifying that he knows he has more in him, while vaguely hinting that his body language needs to be better on the mound. Birdsong is far from a lost cause, but he won’t have unlimited opportunities at the Big League level this season.
Harrison Bader showed off his impressive power earlier this week. He belted a home run over the left field berm in Maryvale, at the Brewers’ Spring Training home. . He launched it so far that it dented a food truck in left field. No one was struck, and it became a fun wholesome moment after the game.
KNBR digital superman Austin Scott, formerly known as Oreo man, will now be known around the Giants’ locker room as water color man? Austin made his valiant return to Scottsdale and conducted a myriad of sit down interviews with key players. Check out the social below, and run don’t walk to the KNBR YouTube to check out all of his exclusive content.
Larry Krueger joined Murph & Markus this week, live from Scottsdale where he will be broadcasting all week. Krueger provided his takes on position battles, Vitello settling in, and a laundry list of prospects. Perhaps his most poignant moment came when he gave a prediction on the arrival of Bryce Eldridge. Suffice to say Krueg is lower than most on the Giants’ young slugger.
Talk about making an impact 😆

"I think (Bryce Eldridge) is probably a full season away... "If I had to call it I'd say 2027, roughly June to expect him."
