The Giants have been in the national spotlight for much of the last week, just not for the reasons the team and its front office would prefer. You know all the details by now, but regardless of where you stand on the controversy, you probably felt that it would have blown over by now. JT Brubaker certainly did. As did Ryan Walker. Both hinted at as much in an interview with the California Post in Atlanta this week.
But the local headlines have become national, with everyone making their voice heard. Even politicians and political pundits. Mike Krukow joined the morning show on Wednesday and offered his always valued two cents on the topic as it continued to take on a national identity.

After a somewhat rough start (the advanced analytics told stories of rotten luck) Eldridge has emerged as a force, and a real candidate for National League Rookie of the Year.
Eldridge is batting .319 with a .962 OPS and six homers in 33 games. Even with an odd, clustered playing time plan for the youngster when he was first called up, he’s managed to break through and has now become not just a mainstay in the lineup, but a stalwart at the top. Tony Vitello joined the morning show on Thursday and detailed how Eldridge forced his way into an every day role.
Tony Vitello says the original plan with Bryce Eldridge was to use him in strategic spots to build his confidence. Eldridge quickly convinced him that wasn't necessary.
