Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Dan Vladar sustained an upper-body injury in the first period of a 5-1 preseason loss to the Bruins on Tuesday in Boston.
The severity of the injury was not immediately known.
Vladar, 29, reached out for a loose puck and was clipped by Bruins forward Tanner Jeannot as he skated by. The sequence led to a goal, as Boston’s Michael Eyssimont scored on a deflection of a shot from the point.
Vladar skated to the bench after the goal, with a trainer looking at his arm. He was replaced by Aleksei Kolosov.
Vladar signed a five-year, $27.5 million extension in July after helping the Flyers clinch a playoff berth for the first time since 2019-20. He set career bests in 2025-26 in wins (29), goals-against average (2.42), save percentage (.906), games played (52) and starts (51).
He is 78-48-23 with four shutouts, a 2.81 GAA and an .898 save percentage in 157 regular-season games (146 starts) with the Bruins, Calgary Flames and Flyers. He was drafted by Boston in the third round in 2015.
