SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The San Francisco Giants announced today that they will open the 2019 regular season on Thursday, March 28 at the San Diego Padres, marking the 10th-consecutive year that the Giants will open the season on the road. The Giants will play their home opener against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, April 5, marking their first home opener against Tampa Bay, and the first time they will host the Rays since 2002.
Following their opening four game series in San Diego from March 28-31, the Giants will travel to Los Angeles-NL for a three-game series, April 1-3, before coming home for a 10-game homestand against Tampa Bay (April 5-7), San Diego (April 8-10) and Colorado (April 11-14).
For the seventh-straight season, the Giants will play 19 games against each of their four National League West rivals – Arizona, Colorado, Los Angeles and San Diego.
The Giants will face the American League East in Interleague, playing a home-and-home series with the Toronto Blue Jays (April 23-24 at Rogers Centre; May 14-15 at AT&T Park), a three game home series with the Tampa Bay Rays (April 5-7), a three-game home set with the New York Yankees (April 26-28), as well as a three-game road series at the Baltimore Orioles (May 31-June 2) and three games at the Boston Red Sox (Sept. 17-19).
A four-game, home-and-home series between the Giants and Athletics will take place, with the first series at AT&T Park, Aug. 13-14 and the second series at the Oakland Coliseum, Aug. 24-25.

Additional highlights of the San Francisco Giants’ 2019 campaign include:
- San Francisco will finish the regular season at home against their NL West rivals, Rockies (Sept. 24-26) and Dodgers (Sept. 27-29).
- 14 home weekends in all, including three against the Yankees (April 26-28) and two against the Dodgers (June 7-9 & Sept. 27-29).
- The Giants have one 10-game homestand (April 5-14), one nine-game homestand (Aug. 5-14) and one eight-game homestand (June 7-16).
- San Francisco will have four three-city road trips overall.
- A scheduled split home double-header against the Diamondbacks on Saturday, June 29.
- The Giants will play at home on Mother’s Day (May 12 vs. Cincinnati) and Father’s Day (June 16 vs. Milwaukee). They play at Pittsburgh on Easter Sunday, April 21 and at St. Louis on Labor Day, Sept. 2. Memorial Day, May 27 and the Fourth of July are scheduled off days. The Giants will also enjoy a rare Friday night off on Aug. 23, a day before opening a two-game series at Oakland.
