There is no doubt that Serena Williams is the best women’s tennis player on the planet. The only remaining question about her legacy is if she is the greatest women’s player of all time. If Williams beats Kerber Saturday, she will equal Steffi Graf’s modern-era record of 22 Grand Slam titles. Here’s where the intrigue comes in: Williams hasn’t won a Grand Slam in a year, losing in the semis of the U.S. Open last year, the finals of this years French Open and this year’s Australian Open to… Angelique Kerber. If Serena’s serve is on, she’s hard to beat. But if she doesn’t get that first serve in with regularity, Williams gets frustrated and a good player can jump on her second serve. And Kerber is a worthy foe.

Did you ever work with someone that you didn’t like? Misery, right? Was it made even worse by the fact that you were both competing to be the best in the company? It sucks! You have to be civil towards someone who is trying to take money from you. Now imagine office politics playing out on a global scale at 180 miles an hour. That’s what we have going on in Formula One this year. Team Mercedes has the best cars and the best drivers but all is not good for the Silver Arrows. British driver Lewis Hamilton is the reigning champion and his teammate Nico Rosberg is the current points leader and they HATE each other. Rosberg wants what Hamilton has; Hamilton feels that he’s the leader of the team and Rosberg wants to beat the man so he can be the man. It’s gotten so bad between the two Mercedes drivers that they have taken to running into each other this year (Rosberg hit Hamilton last week in Austria), and that is a no-no in F1. Hamilton has three wins on the season (Rosberg has five) and is only 11 points behind his German “teammate.” By the way, Hamilton has won three times at his home track, including last year.

If you watch European club soccer, there will be a lot of familiar names in Sunday’s Euro 2016 Final. Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo is the best and most known player but there are other players on both teams that are the clinical definition of the term “world class.” Portugal is good, but the French squad is absolutely loaded. The names read like a who’s who of European club soccer: Laurent Koscielny, Paul Pogba, Dimitri Payet (COME ON YOU IRONS!), Patrice Evra, etc. This years tournament had some snoozer games but this Final has the chance to be a good one.
