Robbie Gould is known for kicking during the opposing team’s warm-ups, but the 49ers weren’t going to stand for an opponent doing the same at Levi’s Stadium.
A pre-game conflict took place before Sunday’s Divisional Playoff matchup, when the 49ers took exception to Cowboys kicker Brett Maher warming up on their side of the field. A few 49ers players exchanged words with some members of the Cowboys and stood in the way of Maher, not letting him kick.
Trent Williams appeared to be mixing it up with Dallas special teams coordinator John Fassel.
Eventually cooler heads prevailed, but it definitely set the tone for a super-charged matchup.
